Occupational Health & Safety

OH&S Responsibility

Trainers and all persons directing the work of others will share responsibility for the safety of all persons in their charge. They will actively take steps to identify hazards, which could cause harm to persons in their area of control or operation and take prompt action to remove or control, or alternatively report them to another person who has the authority and capability to do so.

Course Coordinators and trainers may delegate safety duties or activities to others, but responsibility remains with them.

Students must take care of their own health and safety and that of their fellow workers to the extent of their capability.  This means they must follow all safety rules, procedures and instructions of Course Coordinators and trainers, workplace supervisor or any other management person/s involved during your day to day training activities.

Occupational Health & Safety Policy

Worksafe Training Centre Occupational Health and Safety Policy is based on a belief that all work is to be done so that any risks to health and safety of any person are recognised and controlled prior to the work commencing. We consider that the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation in whichever jurisdiction we are engaged in work is the minimum standard for workplace health and safety.

Our Safety Objectives are to:

  • Manage an injury free workplace by making health & safety an integral part of every managers position.
  • Ensure health & safety is considered in all planning and work activities.
  • Involve our employees in the decision making processes through regular communication, consultation and training.
  • Provide a program of education and learning so that our employees work in the safest possible manner.
  • Identify and control hazards in the workplace through formal and informal hazard identification and risk control systems.
  • Provide effective injury management and rehabilitation for all employees.
  • Provide resources to enable Occupational Health and Safety to be part of continuous improvement of our business practises

We expect employees to:

  • Be pro-active during the planning of all work activities with due consideration given to implementing Occupational Health and Safety methods that are suitable to each given situation.
  • Understand the work process and associated risks.
  • Contribute to setting Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and be committed to achieving our agreed objectives.
  • Make efforts to keep open and honest communication existing between management and all fellow employees.
