Course Outline LF Forklift Truck Operation COURSE IN FORKLIFT OPERATIONS Aims This course is designed to provide basic training in the safe operation of forklifts. The course covers regulations, safety requirements, the operation of gas and diesel powered forklifts, the movement and placing of loads. Qualifications & Recognition National competency assessment is included in the course and participants who successfully meet these competencies are eligible to apply to the Worksafe for their Certification in Forklift Truck Operation (LF). This National Card is recognised Australia wide). Career Prospects This qualification is mandatory for all operators of forklift trucks in Victoria. Forklift trucks are used in many industries including transport, warehousing and manufacturing and in service areas. Who Can Apply Those interested in acquiring the skills involved in the operation of forklifts. Prerequisites Applicants must have sufficient knowledge of the English language to enable the person to perform his/her work safely. To be eligible for an assessment of competency and issue of a Worksafe Certificate, a person must be at least 18 years of age. Documentary evidence and proof of age is required before assessment. Course Structure This course is a 1 or 2 day course depending on applicant's experience and is conducted at the Workplace Training Centre or applicant's premises as required. Subjects: Forklift Fundamentals Covers the skills and knowledge needed to maintain forklifts. Operating a Forklift Covers the skills and knowledge needed to safely operate a forklift.
